A business Verspective into subscribers’ insights
Verimatrix’s Verspective Intelligence analytics platform provides J:COM with an overview of subscribers’ usage

Jupiter Telecommunications (J:COM), a Japanese multiple system and multiple channel operator, has selected Verimatrix’s Verspective Intelligence to tap into the benefits of business intelligence capabilities. The solution’s dashboards and visualisation tools will enable J:COM to make informed decisions about audiences, content, consumption and overall service performance.
As part of the Verspective Analytics solution suite, Verspective Intelligence will be used by J:COM to generate usage reporting and analysis for its video-on-demand (VoD) services, providing a 360-degree view of networks and devices used by more than 3.8 million subscribers across Japan.
J:COM will also be able to maximise network performance, and optimise subscriber experience to further monetise its services.
Naoki Kobayashi, general manager, technology operation division, J:COM, commented: “Verspective Intelligence provides the intel we need to stay alert of the performance of our VoD content and the impact of marketing efforts. It also gives us the option to determine potential network inefficiencies and subscriber viewing habits.
“By helping us to better understand our content performance, Verspective Intelligence unlocks actionable opportunities to adapt our service offerings to constantly stay in stride with our audiences’ viewing experience expectations.”
Verspective Intelligence extracts data from delivery systems regarding VoD content to enable data analytics and reporting of system and content performance.
The Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) analytics platform can be deployed over the Verimatrix Secure Cloud to reduce capital and operating expenditures.
The platform can also be enhanced to collect ‘normalise’ data from subscriber devices in the future by leveraging the Verspective RT data collection solution. This will enable a “more precise” method of segmenting the subscriber audience based on how they engage with J:COM’s services, said Verimatrix.
