Colour correction, colour saturation and support for wider camera formats are some of the new features packed in the new FS-HDR v2.0 software
AJA Video Systems has released v2.0 software for its FS-HDR converter/frame synchroniser. The new software is equipped with new parametric controls that allow users to fine-tune the look of final transforms in FS-HDR while adding support for camera formats such as Sony S-Log3 S-Gamut3 Cine, and S-Log3 BT.2020.
FS-HDR v2.0 is packed with 17 new controls for FS-HDR, including 12 for colour correction (RGB and master controls for lift, gamma and gain), one for colour saturation, two for input formats (Log look and SDR softness), and two to adjust the volume of HDR in the output signal and ambient light compensation. Each control is accessible via FS-HDR’s front panel, the Web graphical user interface (GUI) on any browser, or REST interface, and settings can be stored to a preset for recall later or copied to other FS-HDR units.
Nick Rashby, president of AJA, explained: “With HDR (high dynamic range) and WCG (wide colour gamut) a continuing focus for many broadcast, production, post and proAV professionals this year, we’ve been collaborating with FS-HDR customers to develop new features that make it easier to achieve the desired look for each transform, while also offering support for the tools they prefer to work with.”
The 1RU FS-HDR is designed to meet the HDR and WCG needs of broadcast, over-the-top (OTT), post and live event A/V environments. Developed in partnership with Colorfront, the FS-HDR’s HDR/WCG functionality is powered by Colorfront Engine’s video processing algorithms.
