Antilatency’s FullBandRGB recreates virtual scene lighting automatically

Antilatency, a developer of hardware and software for extended reality (XR) and virtual production, has launched FullBandRGB, a new generation of LED studio lights engineered specifically for virtual production.

Combining an advanced 7 LED architecture, precise linear control and mirror-based light shaping, FullBandRGB addresses the demands of content production while opening new possibilities for automatically recreating virtual scene lighting on a physical set.

FullBandRGB uses seven types of LEDs to produce a smooth, balanced spectral distribution while retaining simple RGB control. Designed around camera sensor sensitivity, this architecture helps reproduce colours faithfully and maintain consistent illumination as colour temperature changes. This, says Antilatency, is essential when bringing real subjects and virtual environments together in the same image.

The fixture’s lightweight construction and integrated power module simplify rigging, while network control and daisy-chaining for both power and data support large studio installations. Mirror-based light shaping redirects output toward the subject, expands the effective emitting area and helps control spill without increasing power consumption.

FullBandRGB’s mathematically precise linear response is central to its role in automated lighting. Predictable output allows software to calculate and apply lighting changes consistently, providing a foundation for matching physical illumination to a virtual scene.

Paired with CyberGaffer, which reproduces virtual scene lighting in real space, FullBandRGB turns this precision into a practical production workflow. As lighting in the virtual environment changes, the system can translate those changes into coordinated adjustments across the studio’s fixtures.

This approach reduces the need to manually rebuild lighting setups for each virtual environment. It is designed to shorten setup and iteration times, reduce the associated production costs and let crews evaluate lighting changes with the physical subject and virtual scene together.

For Antilatency, FullBandRGB is part of a wider effort to rethink how virtual production studios operate. By developing tracking technology, lighting hardware and software that work together, the company aims to automate more of the technical work required to connect physical and virtual production.

The goal is a studio where changes in the virtual scene drive corresponding changes on the physical set, giving production teams more time for creative decisions and making virtual production more efficient.
