Archiware’s P5 software suite is integrated with cloud services support for Microsoft Azure, Hitachi S3, Wasabi S3 and Backblaze B2.
The v5.6 release includes support for cloud services for P5 Archive and P5 Backup, as well as new functionalities for P5 Synchronise
Archiware, a Munich-headquartered manufacturer of data management software, has released the fifth version of its P5 software suite. The latest v5.6 release includes support for Microsoft Azure, Hitachi S3, Wasabi S3 and Backblaze B2 within the P5 Archive and P5 Backup modules, which are designed to secure data and media to various cloud services.
To facilitate the transfer of data to the cloud via Internet, P5 Archive now allows the use of import services such as Backblaze Fireball and Amazon Snowball. Another addition to P5 Archive is the native linear tape file system (LTFS) integration. Assets from archives or local file systems can be imported from and exported to LTFS formatted tapes, which are capable of transporting and exchanging data.
Archiware has also added four new features to its P5 Synchronise cloning tool. They are: throughput tuning with parallel file transfer for faster synch jobs; a new deletion mode for more flexibility; a Restore from Sync function for retrieval of data; and Manual Sync function for one-time cloning without the need to set up a Sync Plan.
With the release of v5.6, Archiware is also offering the new P5 Desktop Edition, a licence package including P5 Archive and P5 Backup to a single LTO tape drive.
