Avid adds new components to its Venue S6L platform
The new releases include the Venue S6L-16C control surface, Venue 6.1 software and the Venue Function Pad iOS app

The Avid Venue S6L-16C control surface, part of the expanded Avid Venue S6L unified live sound platform, is now available. This new S6L system component provides users a portable control surface with the same power and functionality as its large Venue S6L consoles, offering sound companies and performance venues with the flexibility to configure the system to meet production requirement.
Featuring 16 faders and 32 assignable knobs, the S6L-16C can be deployed for corporate events and live applications where space is tight. Users can choose to configure a new system — or scale down an existing set-up — and bring the sound and performance of S6L to the smallest venues.
Avid has also made available a new free Venue Function Pad iOS app which enables users to remote control their S6L snapshots and events; as well as released the Venue 6.1 software, which introduces enhancements, including redundant Pro Tools recording.
The latest software is designed to give users “easy and quick” access to a host of parameters and views within a single touch. Some features include custom encoder layouts with the Encoder Assign feature, and expanded view of Aux Sends in the Venue software for access and visibility into all aux assignments and statuses.
The Avid Venue Function Pad iOS app provides users with wireless remote control of S6L’s function switches, allowing engineers and sound designers to organise, navigate and trigger their Venue snapshots and events from anywhere in the performance venue using their iPhone or iPad.
By displaying all available function switch assignments in a grid of tiles that can be customised for easy navigation, users can tap a tile to trigger applications from Pro Tools recording and playback to theatre cues and other events.
Users can also connect multiple iOS devices running the Venue Function Pad app to a single S6L system to support a variety of front-of-house, monitor and collaborative live production workflows.
