The company’s BarnOne, BarnMini-01 and BarnStudio form the transport system linking various local news agencies with conference centre
At the 18th Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Summit, Digired installed Barnfind Technologies’ fibre platform to support signal transportation between the conference venue and various news agencies.
The SCO, a political, economic and security alliance, was established in 2001 by China, Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan. This year, the annual summit was chaired by Chinese President Xi Jinping, and took place from June 9-10 in Qingdao, China.
As Barnfind’s distributor in China, Digired was tasked with configuring and operating a fibre-optic signal transport system linking the CCTV television studio, Xinhua News Agency, Qingdao Television Studio, International Conference Centre, the airport outside broadcast (OB) vans, and the journalists’ global information desks. A total of 108 fibre-optic links were installed in the master control room with 96 used for communications.
At the core of the transmission solution was the installation of Barnfind’s BarnOne fibre matrix alongside BarnMini-01 standalone bidirectional conversion modules serving the optical machine to form the “star pattern link”. The BarnStudio control software was also used to schedule signals and monitor the system, eliminating the need for manual routing, said Barnfind.
Chen Can, CEO of Digired, concluded: “The Barnfind optical transmission system performed flawlessly. It proved to be flexible and reliable, and we are pleased to announce that all the clients were satisfied beyond their expectations.”
