A total of 31 Sx portable analyser/generators are used for quality control and troubleshooting by engineers in the field and studio this winter
Bexel, an NEP Broadcast Services Company, has ordered 31 Sx portable HD/SD analyser/generators from Phabrix, including six Sx TAG analyser/generators and 25 SxE units with eye-and-jitter analysis. This test and measurement equipment is used for quality control and troubleshooting by engineers at the International Broadcast Centre during the PyeongChang Winter Olympic Games in South Korea this month.
For Sx TAG, the portable solution offers hybrid IP/SDI support, whereas SxE is equipped with advanced physical layer analysis. In addition to managing 3G/HD/SD-SDI, optical SDI, HDMI and analogue formats, the Sx series supports SMPTE ST 2022-6 and SMPTE ST 2110 encapsulation/decapsulation.
Designed for fault-finding and compliance testing, the Sx range can also be employed in remote locations with monitoring over a network. The diagnostic toolset includes a multi-form waveform and vectorscope plus video and 16-channel audio monitoring.
Martin Mulligan, sales and operations director, Phabrix, concluded: “Ensuring video quality is essential for high-profile live sports productions. Our Sx range offers engineers a high level of mobility, as well as the advanced diagnostic toolset needed to address urgent video- and audio-quality issues.”
