Bexel has added 20 AJA Ki Pro Ultra Plus multi-channel recorders and 80 AJA Pak Media PAK1000 SSDs storage devices to its rental inventory, to support its customers on all sizes of productions as they begin to evolve to emerging formats such as 4K/UHD.
Already a user of AJA Video Systems’ solutions, Bexel adds another 20 Ki Pro Ultra Plus and 80 PAK1000 SSDs to its inventory list
To provide its customers recording and storage capabilities for all sizes of productions and workflows, Bexel, an NEP Broadcast Service Company, has added 20 AJA Ki Pro Ultra Plus multi-channel recorders and 80 AJA Pak Media PAK1000 solid-state drives (SSDs) to its rental inventory.
This new AJA investment, according to Bexel, will enable the rental company to equip its customers for recording up to four PAK1000 SSDs with every Ki Pro Ultra Plus, an “ideal” configuration for productions with large on-site recording requirements. For instance, an eight-camera production that previously might have required eight separate recording decks can now rent just four Ki Pro Ultra Plus recorders, each recording four HD channels simultaneously to four PAK1000 SSDs.
The Ki Pro Ultra Plus multi-channel recorder and player features a built-in LDC monitor that enables the simultaneous recording of up to four HD channels, or a single-channel recording of 4K/UHD content.
As the storage companion to the Ki Pro Ultra Plus, the PAK1000 SSD storage device is encased in a protective housing, with a USB3.0 connection to manage the rigours of repeated field use.
Tom Dickinson, vice-president, technology, Bexel, said that the new investment demonstrates Bexel’s commitment to supporting its customers on any type and size of production, particularly as they begin to evolve to emerging formats such as 4K/UHD.
He added: “Many of our customers are looking to add 4K/UHD productions to their existing HD-based workflows, and the Ki Pro Ultra Plus enables them to do that cost-effectively by supporting both types of production with a single recorder. Also, the ability to record four HD channels at the same time with a single box not only lowers cost per channel, but also provides the redundancy needed for live programmes such as awards shows.”
