Blackmagic’s new Pocket Cinema 6K G2 can capture 4K/UHD & 6K resolutions

Blackmagic Design has introduced the Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 6K G2, its next-generation 6K digital film camera that includes an adjustable touchscreen for framing of shots, a larger battery for longer shooting as well as support for an optional electronic viewfinder.
Like the URSA Mini Pro 12K camera, its latest 6K G2 camera is equipped with Blackmagic Generation 5 Colour Science and retains the cinematic Super 35 HDR image sensor with 13 stops of dynamic range, dual native ISO and EF lens mount from its predecessor.
Made from lightweight carbon fibre polycarbonate composite, the camera features a multifunction handgrip with all controls for recording, ISO, white balance and shutter angle right at users’ fingertips. The sensor is designed to reduce thermal noise, allowing cleaner shadows with higher ISO. Plus, the 5-inch LCD makes it possible to capture 4K/Ultra HD (UHD) and 6K resolutions.
Featuring a larger 6144×3456 Super 35 sensor and EF lens mount, the 6K G2 camera allows users to employ larger EF photographic lenses to create cinematic images with shallower depth of field, allowing creative defocused backgrounds and bokeh effects.
All Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera models include a full version of DaVinci Resolve Studio. The software features the new cut page with editing tools and new features designed to help users find their footage, edit it together and output it fast. In addition to the new cut page, users can also leverage DaVinci’s editing, advanced colour correction, audio post and visual effects tools, all in a single software application.
