Broadcasting live UEFA matches in HD across 17,000 islands in Indonesia

Satellite TV provider, Nex Parabola, has partnered with satellite operator SES to live-broadcast UEFA Champions League and Europa League matches in HD across the archipelago of Indonesia – a country made up of 17,000 islands.

The two European football channels will be bundled together with exclusive content from Surya Citra Media (SCM) that has secured the exclusive distribution rights for the 2019/20 football seasons of UCL and UEL. Together with the Indonesian media group’s Citra Cinema, Citra Drama Plus, Citra Muslim and Citra Dangdut, Nex Parabola customers will have access to a variety of lifestyle, entertainment and religious content as well.

The SES-9 satellite is deployed and co-located at 108.2° East orbital position with SES-7 to provide prime coverage over all the 17,000 islands in Indonesia, as well as locations in South Asia, North-east Asia, Australia and the Middle East.

Junus Koswara, president director of Nexmedia (Emtek Group), an Indonesian technology, telecommunication and media conglomerate headquartered in Jakarta, said: “Having recently secured the exclusive broadcast rights for the UEFA Champions League and Europa League for Indonesia, we want to bring the best European football entertainment to as many fans as possible through our subsidiary Nex Parabola and satellite partner SES.
