Cauvery News optimises workflows with full range of Grass Valley production solutions

GV Stratus provides the centrepiece for Cauvery News’ network of integrated Grass Valley news solutions
Looking for end-to-end efficiency from content intake to distribution, Cauvery News chose Grass Valley equipment for its growing news programming needs.
The Indian multimedia broadcast company is now utilising a full range of Grass Valley solutions, including the Karrera K-Frame S-series and GV Korona K-Frame V-series switchers; GV Stratus video production and content management system; K2 Summit 3G production clients attached to a K2 production SAN storage system; Imagestore 750 HD/SD master control and branding processor; and iTX master control integrated playout.
Elangovan, chairman of Cauvery News, said: “When we’re working to get breaking news to our viewers, the last thing we need is complex solutions or a provider we can’t rely on.
“Grass Valley solutions offer all of the advanced features we need while maintaining ease-of-use, and we can always rely on Grass Valley’s support for our entire news production platform.”
Karrera K-Frame S-series and GV Korona K-Frame V-series offer flexibility and efficiency in the form of multi-format support, including 1080p and 4K/Ultra HD (UHD). Karrera K-Frame S-series switchers deliver creative freedom for highly produced content, using up to 6M/Es across two suites, with four keyers per M/E, and up to eight floating iDPMs. At only 3RU, the K-Frame V-series is ideal for Cauvery’s small production spaces, providing “enormous power” but requiring no compromise on enterprise features. The switcher is available in 1, 2 or 3M/E options and when used in conjunction with the GV Korona panel, it offers a “powerful and compact” production centre.
GV Stratus also serves to help Cauvery News keep up with its growing number of channels and programmes. GV Stratus efficiently handles the entire content creation and delivery process across multiple digital media platforms while offering the ability to handle the rising volume of user-generated content (UGC) and integrate with popular social media platforms. The video production and content management system also includes full integration with K2 production SAN storage and K2 Summit 3G production clients, so that finished content can be efficiently stored and disseminated.
