Cinegy enhances playout platform, bolstering security & stability

Cinegy has announced the launch of its newest iteration of the Cinegy Air playout platform. Version 24.1 of Cinegy Air accompanies updates to Cinegy Title for captions and branding, and Cinegy Desktop, the workgroup production suite.

The latest version of Cinegy Air introduces several enhancements aimed at streamlining user experience and bolstering operational security. Among the improvements is an updated user interface designed for enhanced intuitiveness and operational stability.

One key feature is the expanded functionality allowing users to employ colour stripes for categorising content within the playout timeline. This feature is particularly beneficial for identifying various content categories, such as idents, without the need for manual zooming.

Moreover, to mitigate the risk of inadvertent errors during operations, users can now disable direct controls within the Air GUI, preventing accidental disruptions to scheduled events. This feature ensures that workstations primarily designated for monitoring purposes cannot unintentionally impact live output, thereby fortifying operational integrity.

To bolster productivity and flexibility, Cinegy Air now integrates the Rosstalk protocol within the secondary event menu. This integration simplifies the programming of switchers and routers from Ross Video, facilitating switches and transitions as part of automated events.

Simon Pilbeam, Product Manager at Cinegy, said, “For Cinegy, major software releases are about much more than improvements driven by changes in technology.

“Our focus is always on meeting and exceeding the expectations of our users, so this release of Cinegy Air brings changes that broadcasters have asked for because they will make their day-to-day operations better.”
