Clear-Com a clear choice for TVBS
To take advantage of the latest technologies including IP and to easily integrate additional third-party equipment, the Taiwanese commercial broadcaster TVBS has installed a complete Clear-Com’s system for all of its wired and wireless communication requirements in its Taipei City headquarters and on location.

Andrew Chung, engineering department manager, TVBS, said: “Our main criteria for upgrading to a new matrix system were security, stability and ease of maintenance. We compared various solutions from several intercom manufacturers, and conducted POC and vendor planning and presentations.
“After a comprehensive evaluation, Clear-Com was the clear choice.”
TVBS chose Clear-Com’s new solution that is based on the latter’s Eclipse’s HX digital matrix which integrates wireless devices and wired settings securely. For outdoor and live news broadcasts, TVBS’ OB vehicle equipped itself with a FreeSpeak II digital wireless intercom solution that integrates signal and sub-control connection into the same system.
Moreover, FreeSpeak II, which is resistant to 4G interference, enables production teams to roam freely while on location. Agent-IC, a mobile app, is also used to test signals and help with temporary scheduling.
“Clear-Com provided excellent service throughout the process. We are very happy with the new system which gives us excellent flexibility as well as secure and reliable communication,” said Chung.
