Discover the top five broadcast technology trends at BroadcastAsia2017

BroadcastAsia2017 will showcase broadcast technology’s top five trends through its specialised showcases for visitors next month.

These trends are IP Broadcasting, TV Everywhere, Virtual Reality (VR), Cinematography and Video Analytics.

Industry players said IP broadcasting is redefining the broadcasting industry, providing more operational flexibility and a higher capacity, making it easier to create and deliver interesting content.

To allow visitors to explore the potential of IP, an IP Inter-Op Lab including a live broadcast studio, content editing and distribution to OTT, all IP in real time will be part of this year’s show.

TV Everywhere

With consumers watching more TV content on mobile devices, the mobile revolution has impacted the way viewers consume content.

At the dedicated TV Everywhere! Zone at BroadcastAsia2017, visitors can explore the latest technologies from exhibitors, including archive management, content delivery networks, and interactive TV apps.

Virtual reality

According to reports, the emergence of VR into the global market took 2016 by storm, with a record US$2 billion invested into VR startups in the last year.

To give visitors a feel of VR, the show will host a Virtual Reality Zone and an X-periencing Virtual Reality @ Innovation Hub for visitors to check out demos on VR for consumers, technical challenges, and the latest developments in audio VR.

Cinema has backed some of the most stunning visual technologies of all time, impacting the way films are now viewed and consumed.

At the show’s dedicated Cinematography/Film/Production Zone, visitors can view the latest innovations in animation, cameras and lenses, editing and motion graphics, and more.

Video analytics

Video analytics combines the use of big data tools powered by computer vision — measuring viewer reactions in close to real time, triggering a major impact on broadcasting.
