Running on Amazon Web Services (AWS), Edgeware’s cloud-native software will support the preparation of over-the-top (OTT) TV streams for viewing and ad insertion
At this month’s Inter BEE 2018, Edgeware will be demonstrating its cloud-native software. The software will run in containers on AWS, preparing OTT TV streams for “glitch-free” viewing and personalised ad insertion.
Karl Thedéen, CEO at Edgeware, highlighted that many of Edgeware’s customers have adopted cloud services, hence the importance for the company to optimise its solutions for these users working in the cloud environment.
“Edgeware is a great example of a purpose-built solution like our TV origin, which leverages the benefits of cloud services from AWS,” he continued. “Showcasing it in Japan will help us develop opportunities in this exciting market.”
Exhibiting at booth 6402, Edgeware will be running its TV Content Capture and TV Repackager origin products on AWS. The cloud-native software utilises Docker containers and Kubernetes orchestration and provisioning, to simplify the operating environment and reduce costs.
Johan Bolin, vice-president of products at Edgeware, concluded: “Cloud providers like AWS are attractive because of their flexibility and scale, and containers were designed for this type of deployment. They add even greater efficiency, and are easier to maintain and operate than traditional monolithic software.”
Inter BEE 2018 will be taking place from November 14-16 at the Makuhari Messe convention centre in Tokyo.
