The nearly 30-year industry veteran will lead business development and other customer-facing initiatives in the broadcast and commercial AV markets
ENCO, a specialist in automated workflow and instant playout solutions for radio, TV and commercial AV systems, has appointed industry veteran John Casey as director of sales. Reporting to ENCO president Ken Frommert, Casey will focus specifically on domestic business development across new customers and existing accounts in the US.
Casey joins ENCO on the back of nearly 30 years of combined experience as a broadcast industry publisher, as well as a sales and marketing executive. He spent the past 20 years with NewBay Media — recently acquired by Future — leading the Radio World newspaper to record revenues over many consecutive years as publisher. Casey was subsequently named group publisher – media, entertainment and technology immediately following Future’s NewBay Media acquisition.
Casey also previously held key sales and marketing roles at Denon Electronics and later Telos Systems, where he served as VP sales and marketing. “ENCO remains the dominant player in radio automation and automated TV audio playout, and has quickly gained a sizeable market share in TV automation with its MOM (media operations manager) system,” said Casey. “While maintaining growth and stability areas will be a key focus, what’s most exciting to me is working with customers across new growth areas for the company. This includes TV to a degree as MOM and enCaption continue to evolve and deliver new benefits to broadcasters, but raising ENCO’s visibility in commercial AV and other emerging markets will be an exciting initiative that I am excited to help lead.
