Nagra and Kaon, a provider in broadband customer premise equipment, are joining forces in a new streaming solution designed to provide just that for pay-TV operators. The joint solution will enable an end-to-end streaming platform for the delivery of OTT and hybrid Android TV-based services and it is being offered through the Nagra Android Fast Track programme.
Based on the Broadcom BCM7268 chipset and integrating with Nagra’s suite of offerings, the new hybrid set-top box – designed by Kaon – will enable the delivery of advanced TV features in a highly secure and cost-effective environment, in full compliance with the Google MediaCAS framework for Android TV deployments.
Leveraging a long-standing experience in Android-based OTT and hybrid TV, the Nagra Android Fast Track programme combines a highly secure and full-feature ecosystem of technologies, partners and services to successfully plan hybrid and OTT deployments and help operators execute on their Android TV journey.
Maurice Van Riek, SVP and head of Content and Asset Security, Nagra, said: “We look forward to leveraging our expertise in securing Android TV deployments and our Fast Track ecosystem to drive even more opportunities for pay-TV operators wanting to take advantage of the Android TV opportunity while helping them protect their premium content assets from new forms of piracy.”
