GatesAir adds new member to IP Link family

With over four decades of single frequency network (SFN) experience, GatesAir will be expanding its IP Link family of STL/TSL codes with the showcase of Intraplex IP Link 200A.

Designed to simplify connectivity to audio-over-IP (AoIP) studio systems while providing broadcasters with greater flexibility, the Intraplex IP Link 200A interconnects studios and remote locations, including transmitter sites, using the AES67 standard or in a hybrid mode with Analogue/AES3 and AES67.

The Intraplex IP Link 200A is further equipped with Dynamic Stream Splicing software, and features firewall integration and advanced packet filtering capabilities to strengthen network security.

Alongside Intraplex IP Link 200A, GatesAir will also be demonstrating Intraplex IPConnect, an IP networking gateway solution for communication across wide area networks (WANs).

IPConnect addresses the problem of reliable transport across complex networks that traditionally suffer data loss through dropped packets. The solution provides an added layer of support for several types of IP traffic – such as HD radio, DAB/DAB+ or DRM – by employing a combination of packet protection schemes with network/time diversity and packet-level forward error correction.

Additionally, IPConnect is able to bridge local area network (LAN) segments across WANs with tunneling to enhance reliability of programme and signal transport across large geographical regions with multiple receiving and transmitting sites.
