Grass Valley continues to lead in digital media and open cloud technology

Despite the challenges brought forth by the pandemic, 2020 proved to be a successful year for Grass Valley, as the company forged ahead with its vision for a cloud-based future.

Buoyed by its transition to a standalone company under new ownership, Grass Valley launched GV Media Universe, the company’s vision to bring together an ecosystem of solutions with connected partners and devices as the foundation of a move into cloud-based workflows for many media companies worldwide.

GV Media Universe is powered by GV Agile Media Processing Platform (AMMP), a cloud-based SaaS platform that supports a modular, efficient approach to everyday broadcast workflows such as live production, playout automation, asset management, signal processing and master switching.

Other highlights for Grass Valley in 2020 include the launch of the LDX 100, a high-speed, UHD-programmed camera that delivers IP signals directly from the camera into the network; and the debut of the K-Frame XP switcher, a 4K UHD/HD, IP and SDI video processing engine.

Tim Shoulders, Grass Valley’s CEO and president, said,  “We managed to avoid significant operational disruption from COVID-19 by being diligent in our efforts to protect our employees and our customers. We are committed to remaining our customers’ trusted and reliable technology partner of choice as we lead the industry into the cloud.”
