The digital recorder/player supports up to 4K/Ultra HD (UHD), and can be applied for live events and mobile production
Grass Valley, a Belden Brand, has launched its new T2 4K Series, a digital recorder/player solution designed to manage audio and video playout in several formats — including SD, HD, 4K/Ultra HD (UHD) or 4K Digital Cinema Initiatives (DCI). Users can deploy the solution for a wide range of applications, from live events to mobile production.
The T2 4K Series combines the look and feel of a traditional VTR with touchscreen and workstation operation, and is capable of performing ingest, replay, transmission, editing and content management. A software application suite also features media clip selection, playlist creation and playout, while integration with the Edius solution enables users to edit and trim clips during recording for quick content turnaround.
Available in the Elite and Pro version, the T2 4K Series supports 4K (UHD or DCI) content with single-channel input or output, or with one record and two output channels in HD/SD mode. The solution is further equipped with a seven-inch LCD touchscreen display with jog/shuttle control, and a user-friendly graphical user interface (GUI) that enables operators to perform 3D video output, key fill output and playback of playlists.
Delivering rear-panel video/audio/remote/LTC connectivity, the T2 4K Series can accept files via USB 3.0 or by data transfer over Ethernet network, and supports a range of file formats, including Grass Valley HQX, XAVC, XAVC S, XDCAM, P2, AVC-Ultra, Apple ProRes 422, Avid DNxHD and MPEG-2 files.
