Three new original series will be available on the HOOQ platform this month and the coming months, starting with Keluarga Badak in mid-December
HOOQ, a subscription video-on-demand (SVoD) service, has announced a slate of original productions for Indonesia with three new titles under the HOOQ Originals collection.
First is the full-length series entitled Cek Toko Sebelah the Series (Check out the Store Next Door), a modern comedy and family drama featuring a cast comprising Ernest Prakasa, Dion Wiyoko, Gisella Anastasia and Adinia Wirasti, together with a line-up of stand-up comedians.
Alongside Cek Toko Sebelah the Series is Keluarga Badak (Rhino Family), which follows the hilarious family banter and quirky observations of everyday Indonesian family life.
In addition, HOOQ’s partnership with Vice, a North American digital media and broadcast company, will include a slate of digital content at launch and a commissioned talk show exploring the latest trends and popular culture among Indonesia’s Gen Zs and millennials. This youth-focused talk show will feature stories, conversations and topics trending in Indonesia each week with each episode prepared to educate, entertaine and inspire with new discussions on where the country is heading and what it all means.
Jennifer Batty, chief content officer of HOOQ, added: “There is a huge demand for quality stories in Indonesia by all segments of audiences and we are focused on delivering quality entertainment to our Indonesian audiences, and are confident that this new slate will speak to a wide variety of audiences. We are also excited to work with these amazing producers and our new partner Vice who have amassed millions of followers in Indonesia, and we hope that injecting the HOOQ original flavour into these partnerships will help take these titles further and reach a wider Indonesia.”
