The systems integrator will utilise IP technology to enable remote production on-site, allowing the matches to be distributed to local broadcast networks and streaming services
Football Malaysia Limited Liability Partnership (FMLLP), the owner behind the Malaysian Football League (MFL), has signed up for three years of live production service from Ideal Systems, a systems integrator, for the streaming of MFL football matches on iflix, an over-the-top (OTT) service provider based in Malaysia.
Under this agreement, Ideal Systems will provide live production services — including encoding and transmission of live matches from venues, IP-based multi-camera production, and distribution of matches to various third-parties such as Media Prima, RTM and TM UnifiTV. Furthermore, Ideal Systems will encode all matches to iflix while operating the technical and monitoring facility for all matches, live ingest, editing, asset management and publishing facilities. The systems integrator will also provide a remote production facility for live commentary, graphics and ad insertions.
Dez Corkhill, director of content at FMLLP, explained: “We chose Ideal Systems because [the company] offered practical solutions to our specific requirements and was not afraid to suggest — and implement — innovative technologies to bring the football closer to the viewer. We keep throwing new challenges its way, and Ideal has managed each new situation by creating innovative solutions, as well as being reliable and consistent in the regular ‘must-have’ deliverables.
“From the start, Ideal was able to cope with very quick turn-around issues, and has been integral in all aspects of what we are trying to create: from the cameras on and off the pitch to the picture on the mobile devices, it has offered a strong blend of production values, deep technology understanding, and practical solutions.”
