Teaming up with several equipment manufacturers, Ideal Systems will be displaying a range of solutions to the annual ABU Digital Broadcasting Symposium
At the Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union (ABU) Digital Broadcasting Symposium (DBS) 2018, systems integrator Ideal Systems will be showcasing IP solutions, 4K/Ultra HD (UHD) systems, 360-degree virtual reality (VR) for live and post production, and a host of solutions for live broadcasting of news and sports, from virtual sets to signal back haul.
For IP, Ideal Systems will be teaming up with Embrionix, who has developed solutions that would support media companies’ migration path to IP. While the IP transition is already widely discussed in the industry, the topic is now becoming a deployment reality, according to Ideal Systems, as islands of IP and full IP systems have been set up by some broadcasters in Asia.
Ideal Systems will also be exhibiting Qx 12G, a test and measurement solution for IP, 4K/UHD, and high dynamic range (HDR) monitoring. Besides offering 4K/UHD-SDI generation, analysis and A/V monitoring, the Qx 12G can be deployed in hybrid IP/SDI environments using 4K/UHD and HD-SDI, with additional SMPTE ST 2110 and SMPTE 2022-6 support.
The OZO 360 VR camera will once again return to the Ideal Systems booth. Having deployed the camera for several events last year, Ideal Systems will also be hosting a 360-degree VR workshop at the event, where attendees will be able to explore the production workflows required for a successful live broadcast in 360-degree VR.
Completing Ideal Systems’ demonstration at ABU DBS 2018 will be the showcase of Dejero’s solutions — including the EnGo mobile cellular transmitter, the HEVC/H.265-enabled PathWay encoder/transmitter, and the Gateway router.
