Ikegami’s new UHK-X600 comes with future-proofing options @IBC

Designed for pedestal-mounted, tripod-mounted or over-the-shoulder operation, the UHK-X600 is the latest addition to Ikegami’s Unicam XE range of broadcast-quality cameras.
Incorporating three 2/3-inch oversampling Ultra HD (UHD) CMOS sensors, the UHK-X600 delivers 1000 TVL resolution, minimal aliasing, plus 2000 lux sensitivity at F11 (50p). Standard features also include full support for Hybrid Log Gamma high dynamic range (HDR) with the ability to select between BT.2020 and BT.709 chroma spaces. Global shutter imagers minimise artifacts when televising LED screen walls or flash/strobe illuminated stage environments.
Measuring a compact 34 x 24.5 x 15.5 cm and weighing only 5 kg, the UHK-X600 accepts a wide range of B4 lenses and supports chromatic aberration correction, vignetting correction, ramping compensation and remote control of back focus when the latter is also supported by the lens.
Michael Latzsch, Broadcast & Professional Video Division Manager at Ikegami Europe, highlighted, “The design brief was to create a camera which gives broadcasters and production companies the freedom to update to latest-generation high frame rate HDR equipment that matches their current mode of operation while retaining the option to add UHD capabilities if or when they choose. Announced at the April 2023 NAB Show in Las Vegas and now deliverable, it is ideal for use in studio or outside (OB) applications as well allowing battery-powered over-the-shoulder location production.”
Future-proofing options for the UHK-X600 enable customers to invest in additional capabilities as or when required. Among the license-key based options is support for 2x, 3x and 4x high frame rate capture plus optional 4K processing delivering 2000 TVL resolution when operating in 2160p. Plug-in hardware-based options include a SMPTE ST 2110 compatible media-over-IP interface board and optional 12G output board.Find out more at booth 12.A31 during IBC 2023, which is taking place from 15 to 18 September at the RAI Amsterdam Convention Centre.
