In November this year, APB, in collaboration with systems integrator Ideal Systems, inaugurated two seminars — one in Hong Kong on November 3 and another in Singapore on November 6 — titled Professional Media over IP: Building a Future-proof Media Facility.
The seminars saw the overwhelming participation of terrestrial broadcasters, content producers and providers around the Asia-Pacific region.
Michel Proulx, media technologist and former CTO of Miranda Technologies, headlined the seminars and discussed issues such as how IP is now being considered as a replacement for SDI for the transport of real-time video and audio within TV facilities, and the benefits of using IP for real-time video and audio.
The seminars were supported by Arista Networks, Dejero and Embrionix, who provided deeper insights on how their solutions can support media companies in their transition to IP.
The Singapore seminar was also joined by Mediacorp. Wang Yin, assistant vice-president, broadcast engineering, Mediacorp, also shared the role IP is playing in the new Mediacorp Campus.
