Magna Systems & Engineering wins title at Asia-Pacific Broadcasting+ Awards

Its solutions have led to the creation of Telkom’s in-house news channel SEA Today.

Broadcast media production and distribution company Magna Systems & Engineering clinched the win in the New TV Channel – Indonesia category for its success in being chosen as the provider of a unique news broadcast solution for Telkom Indonesia.

The solution that Magna Systems & Engineering provided led to the creation of SEA Today, an in-house news channel to feed the latter’s Internet Protocol television and Over The Top channels. It has provided to Telkom a unique vendor agnostic solution that would convey news and information insight in Indonesia to other countries.

It also integrates with the company’s existing Vizrt MAM systems. Vizrt also now manages video processing for the news workflow from ingest through editing, sending to studio playout and archiving.

Magna System’s solution also includes an Octopus Newsroom (NRCS) system which is particularly suitable for SEA Today as a full-scale 24/7 news channel. Octopus NRCS is a solution that is not tied to specific vendors and is thus free to integrate with any other systems such as MAM, studio playout and graphics.

The new channel also integrates an Imagine MOS Playout solution and has a Chyron solution integrated for its news graphics.

SEA Today is aired as an English language channel and has many cutting-edge technology requirements that Magna Systems have fulfilled. It currently airs through Indihome TV on Channel 101 (HD), First Media on Channel 416 (HD), MNC Vision on Channel 336, MNC Play on Channel 17 and MyRepublic on Channel 572 (HD) in Indonesia, StarHub TV on Channel 720 (HD) and Singtel TV on Channel 15 (HD) in Singapore and Astroon Channel 504 (HD), Astro NJOI on Channel 504 (HD) and Unifi TV on Channel 651 (HD) in Malaysia.

“By connecting organisations with the latest, world-leading technology solutions and providers, we allow businesses to capture the benefits of the right progress at the right time and help them gain a significant competitive advantage,” the company mentions on their profile.
