Media International Advisory Council to bolster thought leadership in APAC

A Media International Advisory Council (IAC) is being launched at the Singapore Media Festival this week. The IAC gathers top international industry leaders from the media sector to exchange views and develop insights into the rapidly evolving media landscape in the region, and discuss how policy-makers and industry players could work together to increase the vibrancy of the industry in South-east Asia. 

As content investment is expected to reach US$4.4 billion by 2024, the set-up of the IAC aims to provide critical insights on potential opportunities for Singapore and the region to play a relevant and more significant role in the changing global media industry.

The inaugural IAC Council, chaired by Singapore’s Minister for Communications & Information S. Iswaran, consists of 11 members who have been appointed by IMDA  (name in full) for a period of two years. The members are:

·       Alvin W. Sariaatmadja, president director, Elang Mahkota Teknologi (Emtek)
·       Bill Holmes, chief business development officer, Netflix
·       Chase Carey, CEO & executive chairman, Formula One Group
·       Chatri Sityodtong, founder, chairman & CEO, ONE Championship
·       Dr Gong Yu, founder & CEO, iQIYI
·       Janice Lee, managing director, PCCW Media Group
·       Joe Ravitch, co-founder & partner, Raine Group LLC
·       Li Ruigang, chairman & CEO, CMC Capital Group
·       Robert Gilby, founder & CEO, Blue Hat Ventures


The IAC Council members are expected to offer their expertise to help companies forge new models of partnership, content creation and financing in an effort to seize the rising opportunities in Asia.
