NETGEAR’s enhanced IP-based tools a big boon to systems integrators
At the NAB 2026 next month, NETGEAR will be strengthening its position in IP-based broadcast infrastructure with the introduction of new M4350 switch models and significant enhancements to its Engage Controller software. These will underscore the growing demand for scale, resilient networks that can support increasingly complex live production and facility environments.
The expanded M4350 portfolio includes two new models purpose-built for broadcast applications. The M4350-16M4V delivers secure, lockable connectivity with Neutrik etherCON, opticalCON QUAD and powerCON TRUE1 connectors. It features 16 2.5G PoE++ ports, including eight etherCON ports, alongside four 25G SFP28 uplinks via a modular card slot. Optional uplink cards support RJ-45 or opticalCON QUAD connectors for a single-mode or multimode fibre, offering flexibility for diverse production setups.
Addressing the bandwidth demands of large AV-over-IP deployments, the M4350-16C provides 16 100G ports. Designed for aggregation and core layers where multiple high-resolution video streams converge, the model equips systems integrators with the throughput required for 4K/Ultra HD (UHD) and multi-camera workflows.
Across the broader range, the M4350 series supports managed switching from 1G to 100G, with high-power PoE++, redundant modular power supplies and hitless failover to safeguard mission-critical operations. The new models also support SMPTE ST 2110 timing with grandmaster and boundary clock functionality, and TAA-compliant SKUs are available for government deployments.
Alongside the hardware updates, NETGEAR is rolling out Engage Controller v2.4, introducing the ability to configure networks off-site without connected hardware. Integrators can design and fully configure virtual switchers and access points for new or existing sites before deployment, reducing on-site setup time and minimising downtime.
Multiple virtual sites can be saved as reusable templates and converted into physical installations via manual setup or auto-onboarding. The software also incorporates NETGEAR AV OS, featuring profiles for major audio, video and lighting protocols to simplify configurations.
