Octopus Newsroom powers Net’s newsroom operation

Installation of Octopus 8.1 NRCS solution is completed within two weeks, and is integrated with the Indonesian broadcaster’s playout, graphics and teleprompter equipment

Net, an Indonesian multi-platform TV channel, has installed the Octopus 8.1 newsroom computer system (NRCS) from Octopus Newsroom.

As the project has to be completed within two weeks before Net’s existing NRCS subscription expires, Octopus Newsroom’s European and Asian teams joined forces to install and configure the new system, including integration with Net’s playout, graphics and teleprompter equipment while the station was still on air.

Additional elements of the project include the conversion of the news media archive to ensure accessibility from Octopus. Furthermore, Octopus Newsroom also provided newsroom staff training for Net.

Designed for use by TV, radio, sports and e-sports broadcasters, the Octopus NRCS facilities editorial collaboration between news team members at each stage of the newscast production process, from initial receipt of task notification to complete and advanced rundown management. The solution equips newsroom staff the ability to ingest all incoming audio, video and still-image files, news agency wires, RSS feeds, emails, SMS messages and even faxes.

The software runs natively on Linux, Microsoft Windows and Apple OS X, and can be installed for all types and levels of operation, from a single channel news station to a full-scale round-the-clock news network.
