Ooyala simplifies content distribution for HBO Asia’s linear & OTT offerings

The Ooyala Flex Media Platform is being employed by HBO Asia to automate its video workflows, from preparation through to distribution

With an aim to drive up efficiencies in its content distribution business across linear and over-the-top (OTT) channels, HBO Asia has integrated the Ooyala Flex Media Platform across its existing systems, processes and tools — and to ultimately allow the network to streamline and automate its video workflows within a single source of access.

To scale and grow the business, HBO Asia plans to transition its workflows to the cloud, and increase the speed and efficiency of its media operations. The network will also leverage and consolidate its existing systems for encoding, quality control (QC), and digital rights management into a single platform and access.

Designed as a content supply chain optimisation platform, the Ooyala Flex Media Platform is being used to orchestrate media workflows for HBO Asia from start to finish, and as media logistics to prepare and process content for QC, encoding as well as distribution across both linear and OTT channels.

From receiving a content file, validating it, applying QC, approving, transcoding, packaging with digital rights to distribution, the Ooyala Flex Media Platform is able to enhance the entire process, which is hosted on the cloud.
