OTT StreamWatch a ‘game changer’ 24/7 central interface, says Actus

Calling it a “game changer” for over-the-top (OTT) quality assurance, Actus Digital is introducing OTT StreamWatch, a new OTT monitoring solution, at IBC 2023.
In addition to 24/7 quality assurance, it provides compliance logging, OTT stream monitoring, and aircheck recording of native HTTP Live Streaming (HLS) and other OTT adaptive bitrate (ABR) streams. It can be deployed as a standalone solution or as part of the Actus Intelligent Monitoring Platform, providing customers with a central interface.
OTT StreamWatch is the first product that makes it economically feasible to monitor free ad-supported streaming TV (FAST), IPTV, and OTT streaming channels throughout the entire workflow, according to Actus Digital.
Sima Levy, CEO of Actus Digital, said, “OTT StreamWatch combines features that have never been in a solitary product before. It clearly displays quality of service (QoS) information and users can easily evaluate bandwidth usage, streaming media download times, missing SCTE, manifest errors and buffering issues within OTT streams. And it summarises data so operators can recognise and address potential issues before they impact viewer quality.”
At IBC booth 7B44, Actus Digital is also highlighting the Remote Video Monitoring (RVM) feature within the Actus Intelligent Monitoring Platform. Designed as a quality assurance solution for multichannel video programming distributors (MVPDs), the Actus RVM allows MVPDs to gain real-time insights into their viewers’ QoS and verify local ad insertion and timing.
