Padamyar FM makes equipment purchase from Lawo

It includes a Lawo 12-fader crystal mixing console, Compact Engine AoIP mixing platforms, and VisTool software
Padamyar FM, a Myanmar-based radio station broadcasting news, information and entertainment, has purchased several Lawo products from systems integrator Elevate Broadcast. It includes a Lawo crystal mixing console, Compact Engine audio-over-IP (AoIP) mixing platforms, and VisTool GUI-builder software.
Inside Padamyar FM’s on-air control room is a 12-fader crystal console augmented by a VisTool virtual mixer, which extends the console’s mixing capabilities. Custom VisTool pre-sets allow users to recall source assignments and other settings on both mixing devices simultaneously, thus enhancing operator speed and accuracy.
Another operational feature fitted in the master control room is the combination of VisTool with a Lawo Compact Engine. Besides using this feature as a cross-point router with touchscreen interface, this combination can also be used to route and mix signals throughout the facility, or to bypass the on-air studios during emergency broadcasts.
Tan Boon Siong, sales director for South-east Asia, Lawo, commented: “Padamyar FM’s workflow showcases the seamless combination of physical and virtual control surfaces throughout the radio station. It’s a wonderful example of how traditional and computer-based broadcast tools can complement each other.”
