As senior director of IP systems, Myers will oversee Lawo’s IP product portfolio and technology development across the company’s business
Lawo has named Phil Myers as senior director of IP systems. In this newly created role, Myers will coordinate the IP product portfolio and core technology development across the company’s business, as well as supporting the advisory board with strategic and technology direction during this transitional period in the broadcast industry.
Commenting on his appointment, Myers said: “It is great to be part of a team with such a great vision about the future of our industry, and that has the commitment, passion, right people, and leading-edge IP audio, video, networking and control technologies to achieve this vision, for the benefit of our clients. The inspiration and inventiveness of Lawo people, coupled with their drive and determination, are revolutionising the way broadcasters work.”
Prior to joining Lawo, Myers was IP product manager for Snell Advanced Media (SAM) and Grass Valley. He had also held product management and head of technology positions at Pinnacle Systems, which is now a part of Avid; and at Sony and CVP. His appointment, according to Lawo, comes at a crucial time for the broadcast industry in adopting IP technologies with all the benefits they offer in quality and, cross-media content production and distribution.
Phillip Lawo, CEO of Lawo, concluded: “We are very excited to have Phil join our team. His extensive knowledge of the broadcast ecosystem, coupled with experience of deploying IP systems, make Phil a valuable addition to the management team at Lawo during this period of rapid growth.”
