The German systems integrator will add cloud security components from SecurView into its Qvest.Cloud management system
In September last year, Qvest Media introduced a new business unit, QM Cyber Security, which is aimed at offering holistic cybersecurity services and corporate IT solutions. The German systems integrator has further established a partnership with SecurView to expand its cybersecurity portfolio for media companies to protect applications, data and media assets in the cloud.
At IBC2018 last month, Qvest Media demonstrated Qvest.Cloud in a pre-launch presentation. Qvest.Cloud is a management system that enables third-party cloud applications to be networked into one integrated end-to-end workflow, and used and monitored via a central user interface.
The partnership between Qvest Media and SecurView will enable the latter’s security components to be integrated into Qvest.Cloud. Furthermore, both companies will jointly develop IT security services that cover all areas that media companies require to protect from internal and external attacks on their IT infrastructure, from the company’s network to the complete media supply chain, as well as the protection of intellectual property after publication of content.
Thomas Müller, general manager at Qvest Media, concluded: “Digital technologies in the media and entertainment industry no longer cover just specific broadcast technology, but they already include many of the standard IT components. We also see a shift from locally installed hardware to cloud services, and a strong increase in the use of the Internet for research, media production and distribution.”
