As the exclusive agent, Reddentes will manage the broadcast rights of Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games for Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam, Myanmar, the Philippines, Hong Kong SAR, Taiwan and India.
Set for August next year, the 2020 Paralympics will feature a total of 22 sports including badminton and taekwondo. This will be the second time that the Games will be hosted by Tokyo.
Alexis Schaefer, the IPC’s Commercial, Broadcasting and Partnerships director, said in an official statement: “Since the first Paralympics in 1960, the Games has grown bigger and better each edition.
“For Tokyo 2020, we want to break all records in terms of broadcasting.
“To exceed the cumulative audience of 4.1 billion people in 154 countries who watched the Rio 2016 Paralympics, we will need to drive audiences in Asia.”
Apart from the Paralympics, Reddentes also held non-exclusive rights covering China, Korea and Japan for 2019 World Para-Swimming and 2019 World Para Athletics.
