Iyuno-SDI has secured a US$160 million investment from Softbank Vision Fund 2. The funds will fuel the former’s development in next-generation technologies and global delivery of the world’s localised content, further supporting its mission of transforming the content localisation industry.
As a provider of localisation services to the media and entertainment industry, Iyuno-SDI has been leveraging on artificial intelligence (AI) and neural machine translation technologies, in combination with creative and linguistic skills, to deliver localisation services – from dubbing, subtitling and access services to media management, transformation and distribution services – in over 100 languages to content producers and distributors worldwide.
Chris Lee, director at Softbank Investment Advisers, commented: “We believe the media and entertainment sector is undergoing massive disruption, as content distribution and consumption patterns are dramatically changing. We are excited to partner the Iyuno-SDI team to support their mission of delivering technology-driven localisation services to the media and entertainment industry.”
Last month, Iyuno Media Group completed its acquisition of SDI Media. Now operating under the Iyuno-SDI Group brand, the company boasts more than seven decades of expertise and tech solutions, and will showcase its ability to support the rise of video streaming services as content firms seek to deliver more content to a more diverse audience globally. It now has a global footprint, with 67 offices across 34 countries.
