SPH expands accessibility to news with Google Nest Hub

Singapore Press Holdings (SPH), a leading media organisation in Asia, has partnered with Google to increase accessibility of its media assets for its subscribers.

Under the new collaboration, Google Nest Hub will feature visual and audio content from The Straits Times, The Business Times and SPH radio stations including Kiss92, ONE FM 91.3 and MONEY FM 89.3 from June 25 onwards.

For instance, The Straits Times content segments will air one-minute Bite Size News, which presents trending topic on social media. Furthermore, news and financial news bulletins will be presented by MONEY FM 89.3.

With voice-enabled smart speakers, users will be able to issue voice commands to play Business Times financial news while working on other tasks.

Anthony Tan, deputy CEO of SPH, said: “We are excited to continue this partnership with Google since our collaboration on Google Home in 2018.

“Google Nest Hub’s voice-enabled technology and display will allow users easier access to a whole suite of SPH’s media content. Once again, we congratulate Google on the launch of Google Nest Hub and look forward to continue engaging our readers through more platforms.”

The Google Nest Hub is available to all existing Straits Timessubscribers at S$119 (US@161.30). The usual retail price is S$189.
