TAG promises that with its new MCM-9000 IP-based multiviewer and monitoring system, the industry will adopt a new way of viewing media.
At IBC2018, the company is highlighting the MCM-9000 IP-based multiviewer and monitoring system
TAG, a provider of advanced IP monitoring and high-quality 4K/Ultra HD (UHD) multiviewers, says it is changing the way media is viewed with the new software-only MCM-9000 IP-bases multiviewer and monitoring system.
Said to be the “first of its kind” in the industry, the MCM-9000 supports the SMPTE ST2100 suite of standards for managed IP networks that address HD and 4K/UHD uncompressed video and audio streams.
Abe Zerbib, CEO of TAG, said: “We are delighted to demonstrate our unique MCM-9000 IP-based 4K/UHD multiviewer and monitoring system at IBC2018, and introduce visitors to a different — and significantly better — way of viewing media.
“The MCM-9000 provides so many benefits, including increased speed, enhanced flexibility, improved quality and cost savings; it also paves a path to an all-IP infrastructure.”
The MCM-9000 runs on commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) hardware, and provides a complete monitoring solution for all the transmission layers of both uncompressed content and compressed MPEG-TS HLS/MPEG-DASH, starting from the TS packet header all the way to the encoded video content and its quality.
Capable of high server density, the MCM-9000 can receive large quantities of uncompressed sources and display them on the same screen, creating and displaying more “tiles” and potentially reducing the number of monitors and interface devices for greater hardware efficiency, said TAG.
