TechStorm to storm Asia?
In today’s connected world of TV everywhere, compelling content is king and seamless distribution network is queen … and so TechTV, after careful research, decided to engage Globecast for its Asian launch of TechStorm — a new digital HD channel about innovative inventions and stories of the entrepreneurs who made them happen.

Debbie Lee, founder of TechStorm, said: “We are experts in creating and acquiring content, and understanding the innate taste and preferences of the Asian audience.
“We also explored the market very carefully in terms of media service suppliers and we chose Globecast to launch TechStorm as they completely understand what we need.”
Being a hybrid fibre and satellite network provider, Globecast is providing a full suite of playout services to TechStorm, from receiving the playlist and content to build the channel to preparing the content and editing to compliance check.
“The Globecast team’s expertise and dedication to the task is admirable, providing a dynamic yet robust suite of services, all from a single supplier,” said Lee.
The HD channel aims to meet the rising market demand for technological news and entrepreneurial knowledge; it will shed light on the incredible journeys of the entrepreneurs through their inventions, gadgets and discoveries to inspire and thrill the diverse audiences in Asia.
TechStorm is being made available in Singapore and subsequently Globecast will uplink the channel to MEASAT-3, a Malaysian communications satellite. The HD channel will then be increasingly available on pay-TV platforms across Asia, via IPTV, cable, DTH (direct-to-home) and OTT.
Stephen Lee, head of Sales, Globecast Asia, said: “TechStorm is an interesting concept … We are using a wide range of technologies and skills to bring the channel to market, working closely with its team to understand both its needs and the needs of operators across the region.”
