The enhanced AirBox Neo from PlayBox Technology supports playout automation and channel branding solutions for the Scandinavian TV network
TV Visjon Norge, a Scandinavian Christian TV network, has upgraded its AirBox broadcast playout and channel branding system from PlayBox Technology to the Neo series.
Already an AirBox user, TV Visjon Norge’s upgrade to Neo was driven by the need to integrate with the network’s purchase of Ross Video’s NK router. “Incoming content is stored as files on a shared central archive. Title graphics and scheduling are all performed within the Neo system, and then transmitted direct from one of four AirBox playout servers,” explained Ben Gunkel, chief commercial officer for PlayBox Technology.
Designed to support 4K/Ultra HD (UHD), HD and SD playout from a single server, the AirBox Neo is capable of managing live-to-air throughput while providing automated content playout for satellite channels, cable headends, over-the-air broadcasters and corporate TV users.
In the enhanced Neo series, PlayBox Technology has incorporated new control features, expanded file-handling capabilities while supporting greater input and output connectivity, and introduced Microsoft Windows 10 compatibility. The enhancements, which the company has implemented within the graphic interface, also include streaming input compatibility with HTTP(S), UDP, RTMP, MMS(H), and YouTube, as well as streaming output support for UDP, RTSP and ATSC.
