The integration of Interra Systems’ solutions with AWS Elemental will enhance the delivery of live and on-demand video content
To enhance video delivery while leveraging cloud technology, Interra Systems has entered a strategic partnership with Amazon Web Services (AWS) Elemental.
Under the deal, Interra Systems’ QC and monitoring systems will be paired with AWS Media Services — including AWS Elemental MediaConvert, AWS Elemental MediaLive and AWS Elemental MediaPackage — enabling pay-TV operators, broadcasters and over-the-top (OTT) providers to deliver live and on-demand content to consumers.
Anupama Anantharaman, vice-president of product marketing and business development, Interra Systems, explained: “As broadcast and streaming technologies rapidly evolve, there is increased complexity and chance for error. Video providers need a strategy for checking content quality and monitoring content at every point in the workflow.
“Interoperability with Interra Systems’ end-to-end solutions and AWS Media Services allows video providers to monitor their valuable content with comprehensive quality measurements across any network in a secure, scalable and cost-effective manner.”
AWS Elemental solutions can be used alongside Interra Systems’ Baton QC and Orion-OTT monitoring solutions to provide QoS and QoE measurements, thus enabling an end-to-end video quality assurance.
Orion-OTT is a monitoring solution that is designed to provide checks for content integrity and related network performance of adaptive bitrate content. The solution also supports passive monitoring of both the origin server performance and the service on end-user devices to analyse recurrent issues and their causes.
As for Baton, it is a hybrid QC platform available both on-premises and in the cloud. The solution supports a wide range of media formats and offers quality checks, including data verification, audio language detection, PSE correction, and loudness detection and correction.
