Videon names new CEO to drive global expansion to the edge

Fresh from completing a US$7.3 million Series A funding round, Videon, a provider of edge computing solutions for video, has appointed Tricia Iboshi as its Chief Executive Officer. Iboshi, previously Videon’s COO, is being tasked with leading a new management team to accelerate global uptake of the company’s video compute platform.

Videon technology brings cloud functions to the point that video is created, boosting the reliability and quality of streaming while reducing costs and latency. It already powers live streaming for sports, news, emergency services and houses of worship across more than 19 countries.

Iboshi said, “Videon is transforming the market for live video making it possible for anyone to stream broadcast-quality content. We remove traditional expensive broadcast industry hardware and technical resource barriers.

“We’re look forward to working closely with our partners to deliver our game-changing technology to more broadcasters, content creators and video developers worldwide. And I’m excited to be leading a fantastic and growing go-to-market team.”

Joining Iboshi are Ken Ruck, Videon’s new VP of Commercial Operations & Sales; and Chance Mason, the company’s new VP of Strategic Accounts.

Prior to joining Videon, Ruck was the Principal of Product for Amazon Live, launching the company’s shoppable and AI-enabled live video platform.

Mason has a successful track record in building and delivering game-changing sales and marketing strategies for industry players like Piksel, Qumu and Haivision; he will drive key strategic accounts and partnerships for Videon.
