VSN adds AI capabilities to VSNExplorer MAM

Speech-to-text, image processing and facial recognition are some of the new functionalities integrated in the media asset management (MAM) solution
Following a successful 2018 NAB Show in Las Vegas earlier this April, VSN will be bringing its VSNExplorer media asset management (MAM) module to BIT Audiovisual 2018, an audio-visual technology trade show.
Packed with the necessary tools for managing the whole media lifecycle, VSNExplorer MAM features functions such as ingest, cataloguing, search and retrieval, as well as archive capabilities. To enhance the media management system, VSN added automatic metadata capturing functionalities in the cataloging view of the VSNExplorer MAM.
This way, VSNExplorer MAM will be capable of showing in one single interface all metadata captured automatically and directly from a media asset, segmenting results per provider, said VSN. Among the functionalities included within these tools are speech-to-text, image processing, facial recognition, objects and audio effects detection, image emotions analysis, context information or text transcription and translation.
Alongside VSNExplorer MAM, the company will also be exhibiting VSNExplorer Plugin, a media object server (MOS) media bus. Developed specifically for news and live event production environments, the new web plugin allows users to access most VSNExplorer MAM functionalities from any newsroom control system (NRCS) interface. It allows NRCS to perform advanced assets search, video editing, and unifying videos and graphics from CG systems, making the news piece ready for broadcast and delivery to studio playout. Moreover, this new tool is compatible with several NRCS solutions available in the market, including Octopus 8, Inception from Ross Video, iNews from Avid, and ENPS from AP News, among others.
VSN will be exhibiting at booth 7C23 during BIT Audiovisual 2018, which will take place from May 8-10 in the Feria de Madrid institution in Spain.
