Andorran broadcaster expands its use of VSNEXPLORER MAM solution to move its archive to the cloud
Ràdio i Televisió d’Andorra (RTVA), a TV and radio broadcaster in Andorra, has deployed VSN’s technology to move its historical archive to the cloud.
Already a user of VSN’s systems, RTVA expanded the use of the VSNEXPLORER media asset management (MAM) solution to digitise and preserve all its archive in a “secured and controlled” environment within the private cloud service offered by telecommunications company Andorra Telecom. The system also enhanced RTVA’s workflow efficiency, as users are able to retrieve saved content in the cloud, thereby allowing them to preview the video and work in low resolution.
Aaron López, COO for VSN, said: “The digitisation of historical archives is an unavoidable task for TV and radio channels alike, not only for reasons such as security and conservation, but also for the monetisation of all the audio-visual files owned by these companies.
“The most valuable asset that media companies possess is certainly its historical archive, and at the end of the day we also need to ease the access to all this content as much as we can for all professionals. This way, they will be able to work and reuse this content as many times as they want.”
Besides the adoption of VSNEXPLORER MAM for file archiving, RTVA has previously installed an end-to-end system comprising VSN’s software solutions for automated newsroom production. These include the VSNMULTICOM solution for playout automation, and the VSNCREATV for programming scheduling.
