Wisycom expands wireless portfolio for complex RF infrastructure
Wisycom has expanded its professional wireless portfolio with three products for large-scale, complex radio frequency (RF) infrastructure.
The headline change is part of a firmware update for the MPR60 Wideband IEM/IFB Receiver, introducing a three-channel IFB mode that can carry up to three IFB audio channels over a single 200kHz RF carrier. Paired with Wisycom’s MTK982 transmitter, the configuration supports up to 60 IFB channels within an 8MHz TV channel, or 45 within a 6MHz channel — what the organisation describes as the most RF-efficient IFB solution currently available.
Even in multi-channel mode, the MPR60 retains full wideband coverage from 470 – 1,260MHz, and its newly confirmed IP65 rating makes it suitable for outdoor and mobile use. The supporting firmware — MPR60 v1.3.0, MTK982 v2.6.0 and Wisycom Manager 5.0.0 — is now available. An optional multi-channel IFB licence allows a single unit to replace three MTK982 transmitters, reducing rack space, cost and associated RF hardware.
Alongside the receiver, Wisycom introduced the MATF Wideband Antenna Matrix, designed for multi-zone wireless infrastructures and RF over fibre (RFoF) deployments. Accepting both coaxial and fibre inputs, it consolidates multiple rack components into a single unit and can combine up to eight RF zones in diversity.
Its four coaxial outputs can operate as four buffered outputs in an 8:1 configuration or as two in a 4:2 arrangement, connecting more receivers without additional splitters. With a 170 – 1,260MHz range, an integrated spectrum analyser, and Ethernet-based management, the MATF ships in four configurations.
The organisation has also begun shipping its PFL Portable RFoF Box, a rugged unit that delivers true diversity over fibre via a dual-converter architecture, with Ethernet connectivity for remote control or Dante workflows and a Neutrik opticalCON DUO interface. Available in three versions, it extends antenna placement from 100m to several kilometres and can carry additional signals, including Dante, Shure ShowLink and Sound Devices NexLink return channel data.
